WhatsApp, the world’s largest instant messaging app, has announced a major update to its “Status” feature. The new features aim to make it easier for users to express themselves and connect with their friends and close contacts on the platform.
Here are the new ways to enjoy WhatsApp Status
One of the biggest additions to the “Status” feature is the “Private Audience Selector”. This new feature allows users to choose who sees their status updates each time they post. The most recent audience selection will be saved and used as the default for their next status update, giving users more control over their privacy.
Another exciting addition is the “Voice Status”. WhatsApp has introduced the ability to record and share voice messages up to 30 seconds on the status feature. This will allow users to send more personal updates, especially if they feel more comfortable expressing themselves through talking rather than typing.
“Status Reactions” is another feature that has been added to the platform, following the launch of “Reactions” last year. The feature was the number one most requested by users and provides a quick and easy way to respond to status updates from their friends and close contacts. Users can now quickly reply to any status by swiping up and tapping one of eight emojis. They can still reply to a status with text, voice message, stickers, and more.
With the new “Status Profile Rings for New Updates”, users will never miss a status update from a loved one. The ring will be present around their contact’s profile picture whenever they share a status update. It will be visible in the chat lists, group participant lists, and contact information, making it easy for users to stay up to date with their loved ones.
Lastly, WhatsApp has added “Link Previews on Status”. When users post a link on their status, they will now automatically see a visual preview of the link’s content, similar to when they send a message. This will make their statuses look better and give their contacts a better idea of what the link is before they click.
The new features have already started rolling out to users globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks. WhatsApp looks forward to users enjoying these new status features soon and is committed to providing its users with the best possible experience.
